A coalition of San Francisco Bay Area health department agencies and advocacy groups hired Your Message Media to help respond to Big Soda’s multi-million dollar campaign targeting youth and communities of color for increased consumption of sugary drinks. Driven by the poems and videos created by the youth of The Bigger Picture Project, the “Open Truth” campaign exposes the real health impacts of sugary drinks, which are driving epidemics of type-2 diabetes, obesity, heart disease and other debilitating illnesses in this country and around the world.
YMM’s efforts included creation of ads placed on Bay Area Rapid Transit ( BART) trains and station walls, AC Transit and San Francisco MUNI buses, bus shelters, billboards and convenience storefronts in Oakland, Berkeley and San Francisco; design and production of postcards, posters, palm cards and event banners, and message creation and spokesperson training.
